Who is responsible for compliance?
Building owners and persons conducting a business or undertaking (PCBUs) are legally responsible. They must ensure safe access to all areas where work at height may occur. This includes installing compliant systems and ensuring they are maintained and certified regularly.
Is there a minimum height requirement for safety measures?
In NSW, there is no minimum height requirement. Height safety measures must be implemented whenever there is a risk of a fall.
However, a safe work method statement is required for construction projects where a fall of more than two metres could occur.
